Found seeks Ascot Coronation

first_imgFound heads a field of nine in Friday’s Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. The Aidan O’Brien-trained filly just failed to catch Jim Bolger’s Pleascach in the Irish 1,000 Guineas on her latest outing. With Pleascach running in the Ribblesdale on Thursday, Bolger saddles Lucida, who was just worn down at Newmarket by David Wachman’s Legatissimo. French Guineas winner Ervedya has just two defeats on her record, finishing third behind two colts in the Prix Morny and second to Found in the Prix Marcel Boussac on Arc day. Irish Rookie, second to Ervedya at Longchamp, will aim to give Martyn Meade the biggest win of his career after connections decided to stick at a mile rather than go for the Prix de Diane last weekend. David Elsworth’s Arabian Queen steps up in class after running out an impressive winner at Epsom in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes. John Gosden’s Sperry has been improving at a rate of knots but tackles her stiffest test yet, while stablemate Yasmeen, the least experienced in the field, tackles Sperry again after chasing her home at York. Local Time carried all before her in Dubai but was only 10th in the 1000 Guineas, while Miss Temple City is an interesting runner for Englishman Graham Motion, who is based in America. center_img Press Associationlast_img read more
